Golf Cart Rental FAQs
Can I drive the golf cart at night?
Absolutely! All of our golf carts are street legal LSVs (Low Speed Vehicles) and fully equipped for both day and night driving.
Where am I allowed to drive the golf cart?
Per Florida Statute 316.2122, our street legal LSVs can be driven on roads with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or lower. All our carts are registered, tagged, and insured as low-speed vehicles.
Can I drive on the beach or take it off-road?
No. Our golf carts are street legal vehicles and are not designed for sand, dirt trails, or off-roading. Driving on Brevard County beaches is prohibited and can damage the cart’s underside.
Where can I park the golf cart?
You can park the cart anywhere a regular vehicle is allowed—parking garages and public parking spots included. Just follow all posted traffic and parking regulations and pay any applicable parking fees.
Who can rent and drive the cart?
The main renter must be at least 25 years old, with a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Additional drivers must be at least 21 and listed on the rental agreement with their license and insurance as well.
How do I make a reservation?
You can book online anytime! Just visit our website, click “Rent Now” on the homepage, select your dates, and choose your cart.
Do you offer same-day or one-day rentals?
We currently require a 3-night minimum rental and at least 1-day advance notice to provide the best experience.
What areas do you deliver to, and is there a fee?

When will my cart be delivered and picked up?

To cancel or make changes, contact us at info@SunsetCarts.com or call/text 321-491-9822.
Are the carts gas or electric?
All of our golf carts are 100% electric and powered by lithium batteries—quiet, eco-friendly, and fun to drive!
How far can I drive on a full charge?
Depending on the cart size, a full charge typically gets you 20–30 miles of driving range.
How do I check the battery level?
Each cart has a battery indicator gauge. It’s an estimate, so we recommend keeping charge levels above 25–30% to avoid fast drain and potential shutdown.
We charge a $50 Dead Battery Fee.
How and when should I charge the cart?
Every cart includes an onboard charger and standard plug.
- Plug into any regular 3-prong outlet (check your vacation rental for access).
- Charge overnight or whenever it’s not in use.
- Always try to keep the charge above 50%. Never let it drop below 30%, as it may damage the battery.
Can I drive until the battery dies completely?
Please don’t. Running the cart down to 0% can cause serious battery damage or leave you stranded. Always plug in between uses and keep an eye on the battery level.
What should I do if the battery dies while I’m out?
Carts have an auto parking brake. If the battery dies:
- Plug into the nearest outlet using an extension cord (provided on request).
- Once charged enough, lift the back seat, flip the switch to “tow mode,” and push the cart.
- Do not tow it with brakes engaged.
- If you’re stuck, call us at 321-491-9822. A $25 service fee applies if we have to come out or call a tow truck on your behalf.
What if I arrive late or leave early?
No problem! We offer contactless delivery and pickup. Just let us know if your arrival or departure falls outside the delivery window—we’ll send instructions ahead of time.
